FIREMAN SPIN - Breakdown

Need some reviewing from your spins? Here's the break down of the FIREMAN SPIN!

  1. Start with the pole on your weaker side. Place both hands on the pole in a baseball bat grip with your inside hand above and your outside hand underneath. Engage your abdominal muscles for extra upper body support.
  2.  Swing around

Take a step on your inside foot and swing your outside leg around the pole to give you the momentum to start moving around the pole.
  3.  Spring up

Pull up with your hands so that your arms take your whole weight. At the same time, spring up off your inside foot, and aim to catch the pole between both knees.
  4. Spin

Allow yourself to spin down and around the pole, gripping it between your knees, and land on both feet.
If you find you stop halfway down the pole, try again, this time relaxing your grip with your hands!
  5.  Stand up

To finish off, push your hips back and raise yourself into a standing position.
