Pole Bottoms Suggestions

One of the most popular questions my clients have in Pole Intro, Pole 1 and Pole Conditioning is "What kind of bottoms do I wear?!"

Most ladies already come prepared to work out in a tank top and sports bra, which is perfect for pole fitness. A natural choice for bottoms ends up being capri yoga pants. These pants feel good and are very versatile in many fitness environments. They're modest while maintaining extreme functionality.  The need to feel partially covered up, or to hide some lower body parts that you're not quite happy with yet is a notion within us all sometimes. We at LSF make it our goal to create a space where you can work to be happy with your body through targeted workouts and confidence building exercises within the studio. We also focus on creating a female only safe space that permits you to FEEL sexy, no matter what shape, size, height or whatever, free of social pressures and constructed definitions of "sexy"!

That being said, the yoga capri's are not the most practical or sexy pant for pole dancing. There's one major rule of thumb for pole dancing bottoms: The smaller, the better. You're gonna need access to the skin on both of your legs from upper thigh to ankle for many of the pole moves you'll learn at LSF. I urge you to release your body inhibitions and find the perfect booty shorts! I've listed a few below that fit all budgets. Find the ones that make you feel the hottest, and strut!

1. At $9.99, the Soffee Teeny Tiny Shorts are unbeatable for the price. They're low rise, short and come in about a billion colors. They're always available at Dick's at Short Pump Mall. In fact, at Dick's, they're $7.99. You can find them for even cheaper online.

2. A bit more expensive, the Under Armour Women's HearGear 2'' Compression Shorts can be found in the volleyball section of any major sporting goods store. These weigh in at $24.99....but its Under Armour and will last forever. Theyre also shorter than the Soffe's Teeny Tiny Shorts and can be sexed up with a bright tank top or sports bra.

3. The Mika Yoga Wear Mikaela Shorts is the number one choice of the Pro's, according to The Pole Dancing Shop online. These shorts are $36 and come in an assortment of colors and patterns!!!! The inseam is 2'' and they come with a draw string on the outer thigh of each leg for length adjustment. These are the most versatile shorts on the market right now for pole dancing. It comes with a hefty price tag ($36?!?!? for just a few inches of fabric?) but are totally worth it according to the reviews. These shorts are also reviewed online as being the MOST flattering shorts out there. These shorts move with you and do not give you that dreaded crotch gap when you're doing the splits (you know what I'm talking about).

4. PoleSkivvies has created the Butterfly Shorts, which are a close second behind the Mikaela by Mika Yoga Wear. These shorts are also available at The Pole Dancing Shop online (linked above). These shorts have higher cut legs for lager and more muscular thighs. They also boast and elastic free waistband (no muffin top!), and a single panel anti- gapping crotch with a double liner for absorption, cuz if you don't have sweat in your butt crack, you're not doing it right! These come in all black, black/fucia, black/violet, and black/blue. PoleSkivvies are designed by pole dancers, for pole dancers. These shorts can also be worn for yoga.

5. Xhileration boyshorts panties at Target! Go up one size larger than you would wear normally as panties, and boom. Instant pole dancing shorts. These range $2.50 to $5.

The Reebok Ruched running shorts at Dicks are also an excellent choice. If you make it to Dick's, be sure to check em out. I plan on doing that this weekend.

I hope this helps you all. Please feel free to ask any questions. Im trying to get my hands on a few pairs of these so I can do a personal review for anyone interested in purchasing.

Thanks for reading.
